Looking for suggestions on pedalboard friendly analog parametric eq. pedal size or even half-rack.
PREFERABLE Criteria:
1) diy
2) 2 FULLY parametric mid bands (3 fully parametric bands would be best)
3) low noise
4) clean boost for makeup gain only (not as an overdrive)
5) typical guitar pedal input and output impedances
why:
I built my 6g2 princeton specifically to have the 6g2 sound, but also to put the eq at noon and then shape tones with a parametric eq. VERY versatile. nails PR sounds, or I can remove offending frequencies in different rooms. Also works for my tweed clones with single tone control.
the problem(s):
1) my BYOC 3 band parametric eq does most everything I need, except there is a lot of hiss when the pedal is engaged despite how the eq is shaped.
2) Para EQ pedals on the market don’t have specific functions I want for the high prices. The empress is no longer made, and is now $400+ dollars used and it only has 3 preset Q-factor shapes. the tech 21 only has high and low shelving.
anyone have any designs or resources? I always prefer to build over buy.

hmmm did you socket the op amps on your byoc eq? that thing uses a TON of fet op amp stages, unfortunately most are in the quad tl074 format. trying to see what the comparable quad to the ne5532 is

Not DIY, but I don't think you can go wrong with a Wampler EQuator
EQuator - Wampler Pedals (https://www.wamplerpedals.com/products/utilities/equator/)

that is a good option. no control over the q factor of the mid bands, but def a consideration.

I did socket them, haven’t tried other opamps just yet. good call. i’m not thrilled with my assembly, either, but I’m not gigging anymore.
