Title: Negative bias connection on GZ34
Post by: Bieworm on April 11, 2022, 07:44:12 am
Hey ampaholics unanymous!!

I have a rather stupid question.. posing it anyway.
The negative bias connection on a GZ34 rectifier should be at pin 4 AFAIK. Suppose you put safety diodes on it.. where do I put the neg bias connection? Option A or B ?
My gut feeling says option A, for it's still AC at that spot, but am I right?

Thanks!

The banded end of each SS diode goes to each GZ34 plate pin (Pins 4 and 6). Pins 5 and 7 have no electrical connection to the tube (and so are available for mounting the other lead of each diode for hookup to the High Tension winding).

(The B+ cap connection goes to Pin 8)
