2204 circuit. Where between the cathode follower and the PI would i tap to the output jack of my preamp build?  Wire the MV wiper to the output jack directly?

Right off the master to the output jack!

treat your preamp output the same as the FX loop send in above layout

If you wanted to make it switchable to instrument level you can add a voltage divider and toggle as well

I attached a snorkler layout that has both line level and instrument out jacks for reference in this case the designer used 2 jacks rather than toggle like I suggested above
