Will this work for JJ EL 34's in PP?
-
Yes
-
Thanks.....
Would just about any pp output transformer that was made for 6l6gc's work also....
-
what are your plate and screen voltages?
-
Just ordered the EL 34's.....transformer is still in the box....nothing mocked up yet.....
What B+ should I be shooting for?
-
guess it depends on what you're building? once you figure out what you want find a production model similar and 'borrow' from the prior art
folks smarter than i suggest designing the power supply first and then working backwards from the output to the input. unless I'm trying to use something I've already purchased (happens a lot as I'll salvage iron from various sources) i like to have a schematic sketched out before i even purchase anything

Looks like a plexi 50 will be the next build.
I have said on here before I am just a hobbiest builder....I build amps somewhat like you guys breadboard. I don't play guitar well so i build an amp and let a friend play through it then we decide if it's something worth furthering. I just like tinkering with electronics. My friend is an accomplished guitarist and a "Marshall snob" so I like making him play through other designs.
Like many of you I have amassed quite a bit of components for building and sometimes build and then just deconstruct it and use the iron for another project...and I haven't built anything with EL34's yet so I figured I would try..anyway thanks to all you guys and your help.

So I have 2, 360-0-360 transformers. I am thinking with SS rectification they should work for me.
I also have a 320-0-320 just incase.
