Title: jcm800 2204 line out ckt
Post by: fossilshark on May 19, 2022, 04:52:15 pm
Hi all, back again for my yearly post

The jcm800 2204 clone I built sounds killer! I am just wondering about the line out ckt that is shown in some schematics like this one. Is it safe to use with modern PA systems/mixers? I want to build it off the 16ohm tap instead of the 8ohm because I am almost always plugged into the 8ohm (just makes more sense to draw off an unused output right?) would I have to modify any component values?

any input is appreciated  :icon_biggrin:

Having a line-out like that is fine, but its not a substitute for a load. I.e. keep your speakers plugged in

I don't see why.

The tone will be buzzy, nothing like a miked speaker, unless the signal is passed via speaker emulation or an IR processor.
