Title: 5K primary for EL34s
Post by: dude on June 09, 2022, 06:06:56 pm
I have a classic tone OT, 5k primary @8 ohms sec,  the B+ will be around 400. Want to run two EL34s in cathode bias. Not too good reading tube charts, will this OT be good to use, it’s rated at 35 watts?

What's the worst can happen?

It won't explode, or even smoke. It won't deliver the 60++ Watts of a 480V 3.4k Marshall, but who needs that?
