I won one at a picnic. I swore it would just be a hassle and annoying. Finally set it up and it is so slow on 2 GHz wifi whoever was at the door (deliveries, not freak shows) is gone by the time it notifies you. Early on, the video was accessible so you could store it yourself...then they changed it to something proprietary under a subscription service. It was free and I don't like it, so upgrading to HD camera and 5 GHz for $200 ain't gonna happen. If it works AND I have a need, maybe. The lack of need is the biggest reason for 'no'.

Before such things existed, we just had a motion sensor that turned on a flood light and we would look outside the window & wonder why the jackass neighbor in boxer shorts was hanging over side of a construction dumpster at 2:30 AM (we were renovating the kitchen)...we would happily have let him have had all the trash he wanted during daylight if he dressed appropriately, including shoes.

When we moved, that family asked where we were moving...I gave them an address that didn't exist on a street in a different neighborhood.
