Some of you, I have been in touch with. Others I am sorry I disappeared! Just say hello at least, you can certainly poke fun, or Jim Bob can be ridiculous! Lemme know if you are ding good if you remember.
To those are inquisitive, I know most fender brownface and marshall (i prefer) Vox, early Sluckey style (Ef86) preamp.
Just went public with my electronic repair and it is going well! Not asking anything, just to be a part once again.

Moderators, I know you should move this!

welcome home, there's plenty of new kids on the block to pick on.

You're up pretty late old man. What's the matter? Can't sleep? :icon_biggrin:
It's OK. Lot's of us have stupid sleep routines these days. Welcome back. I've needed someone to poke at. Check out Barry's recent AC-15 (https://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=29228.0) thread and tell him why he needs one.

OLD MAN, who you talking to? You are absolutely correct. Lemme check out what Barry is doing. If I remember correctly he is out there in California so his reasoning may be off. He wont take kindly to a hillbilly telling him what to do. Should be fun!

Ha!
Thanks PETE, nice to have you as a friend!

Glad to see you're doing well Ed. Wish I could say the same for others but it's all a part of life isn't it? We haven't spoken for several years but lots has happened with all. You still have my number right?
-
Good to see you around again, Ed.

The good news is, the older I get, the more I appreciate everything.
The bad news is, there is less to appreciate.
I sold out and am going to be 1/2 of an acoustic duo.
I'm sitting here working on my calluses as I type with the other hand.
If that doesn't bring old Jimblo out of retirement nothing will.
Doug inspired me to start bike riding and I'm just generally scared into taking better care of myself. I have been surrounded by loss.
So glad to see I didn't lose you too. Thanks for everything you taught me along the way.

Well Dave, I play Acoustic sometimes too. I still have 3. Jim Croce played in a Duo as well. Not to shabby company to be in Tommy Emanuel and Mark Knoffler plays a National. It is Bluegrass, Whiskey Meyers, Cody Jinks and outlaw country here in the mountains.
I talk with jimblo. He will get flushed. Watch! Ritchey Blackmore is themostoveratedguitarplayerever! He played a guitar held together by wood screws.

Agree 100% + I have discovered that a Fender Jazzmaster is far superior instrument to the Stratocaster.

LOL - DEFINITELY the BIGGEST head ever! Jimbo does his best to copy EVERYTHING Blackmore and he indeed has this down pat! It's just too bad he's got himself in a fix as it's been stuck and nobody nearby to help get it extracted?!
SG - no harm in playing acoustic, you can still plug into a Fishman or something right? Things always go in cycles. Speaking of loss... you're not the only one my friend. Join the club in the 2020's
Ed - as long as you're playing with somebody and not yourself, you'll be fine lol. ;)
Keep poking guys... I'm sure he still lurks around here and there which reminds me about cutting off a nose or something?!

I LOVE YOU MAN. That is funny!

I have to pretend like those guys don't exist just so I can take the stage. Tommy is "the most incredible acoustic wizard I have ever seen". I caught him live a couple years ago. Just WOW.
I finally bought some fancy nut files so I finally have a nice playable geetar. And, I do actually sit around just grinding my fingertips on the strings and frets before bed to speed-build calluses.

Ok, I have to admit this. I always promised you guys 100% honesty.
I am playing out of a Boss Katana 50 MkII. If you don't know what that is, use the old Google and you'll hear thousands of dummies talking about how "incredible" this amp is. It's actually more incredible that ANYONE would possibly think this thing is incredible. It does have a dedicated acoustic channel that I am using and if it weren't for that it would make a great midget saw horse. It came free with the guitar off Craigslist. Some woman had spent her free Covid monies on this and never strummed a chord.
I'll just keep working on my acoustic version of Smoke on the Water with open chords and a capo in his honor. I'm raising the key 3 full steps for my chick singer who does it wayyyyy better than Ian ever could. Here I am working on it in standard tuning:
"Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple - Adam Pearce (Acoustic Cover) - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYpbqijRFBU)
Smoke on the water (Deep Purple) - Acoustic Guitar Solo Cover (Fingerstyle) - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXg-MSByD68)

Welcome back!

Sorry Ed, just saw this. As I haven't been around here much lately, been busy around the house.
Very glad to see that you will be hangin' around here again. :icon_biggrin:
