Title: Reverb tank impedances
Post by: isaac_teller on August 13, 2022, 02:51:16 pm
Hi. Does anyone happen to know what the input and output impedances are on the Fender Frontman 25R spring unit? I'm going to try to use it on a Champ Blackface build. Thank you.

The service manual is easily found by google. The reverb unit is REVERB SPRING PAN 1BB2E4A.

I doubt a tank from a SS amp will work with a tube circuit. But, as long as you have one, give it a try. Then buy the correct tank.

tank would work with a capacitor-coupled reverb driver but I'd invest the twenty bucks or so in a better pan, in which case you can go with an 8ohm pan if you already have the reverb transformer (I've have tons of spare high impedance pans sausages out of old organs so i mostly do the capacitor-coupled driver but it certainly sounds different than what you'd normally think of as "fender reverb")
