Title: x6 push pull tube amp primary?
Post by: Balticnoiseforge on September 05, 2022, 03:00:25 pm
Iam not experienced at all when it comes to x6 push pull tube amps more than servicing a sound city.

But 6 output tubes looks awesome during the night and i would like to build a amp with some watt behind it since iam using 15" elements.

I have started collect parts for a Ampeg V4 that wont be a direct clone but quite close and i thought, hey what about a 180w amp instead of 120w?

The primary of the 120w is 2.9k while their 60w is 5.9k - is it as simple as using a 1.45k primary at 180w to use x6 7027a output tubes?

Also could it give a sonic impact using two 6550s and four 7027a? Or would that just be some gimmick.
