Hey Guys..
I have a question about the Dual 50. It has always done this, but I still wonder if it's normal..because none of my other amps ever did this:
when I switch off the amp the sound fades out and is not immediately gone. It does it both on putting it on standby, or directly switched off. Is that due to the 50+50uf/500V can capacitor?
I've always wondered if it's supposed to do that..
Reason why I'm bringing this up is that I had to change V1 2x in one year due to failure.. those Sovteks 12AX7WA are not known for being unreliable IME. I wonder if some kind of ultrasonic oscillation is killing V1... and a lead dress issue isn't likely to be the problem. I used a lot of shielded wire all over and the other wires are real short and plenty of distance between them.
thanks, Bjorn

That's normal. It's due to the big filter caps.
I'd say just bad luck on the 12AX7s.
