This was a great dance song back in high school! My wife and I got to see Percy Sledge sing this maybe 20 yrs ago. What a great vocalist he was!
Anyhow, I know I can't sing .............. but I've always wanted to try and do something with this song. So, yesterday I worked out some chords I like.
I've attached the lyrics and chords I used. I had to look up what the chords were that I liked, so I'm hoping they are labeled correctly?
I used the semi-hollow body 335 type guitar and the Minimalist 6BM8 amp.

Percy Sledge :worthy1: Always loved "When a Man Loves a Women"
I remember my Mother buying the 45 of that song. Don't remember what was on the other side. Around that same time, she took my sister and me to movie theater to go see Help!.
I apologize for the following strong opinion... Percy sledge was so awesome! So full of feeling and soul. So when Michael Bolton did the cover to that song, all I could think of was "Goldilocks dandy here replacing soul and emotion with a bunch of theatrics..." Sorry Michael, you're great singer, but those were big shoes to fill.
@tubenit. Really enjoyed listening to you play guitar.
Posted a guitar lesson video for Percy Sledge's version of When a Man Loves a Women:
