Title: G3 to ground
Post by: knebiter on September 28, 2022, 12:00:02 pm
Merlin sez "connecting the suppressor to ground will dramatically increase the harmonic distortion" on a pentode.

I was thinking of building a TOD and trying to incorporate or test this out in the preamp section. Perhaps via momentary footswitch and relay to grab some Zack Wylde type screechers?
Has anyone here ever experimented with it? It would be nice to have some idea before punching holes in a chassis.

6AS6 is an unusual "pentode".

Where does Merlin discuss this?
