I've been trying to post updated schematic and layout to my build thread and I keep getting a "sorry this page is unavailable at the moment" page or I'm told I have submitted this post already. I cannot see my last post or the bottom menu bar with the reply button when I view my thread.

Looks like that thread is corrupted. AGAIN! Has your device been exorcised lately? :l2:

unfortunately not! my local exorcist is backed up until at least june next year.. you know, supply chain issues and whatnot! :dontknow:
should I start another thread and leave the old one to slowly rot into the abyss of forgotten threads of yesteryear? or is there still hope for the poor little fella?
-
Wait for Hoffman. He may be able to fix it or salvage some of it.
-
Go copy all your text
I will have to delete the thread because I have no idea why it is corrupted
Post back here when you are ready
-
I wonder if the topic would heal itself with attachments if you "split" the topic? I'm scared to try it. :icon_biggrin:
-
After he copies all his text, go ahead and see if that does anything
Nothing to lose at that point :icon_biggrin:
I would say to start a new post and add the text only without any attachments and see how that goes
-
Well, I tried splitting and merging and now the only thing left is the original post. Still can't post in the thread. Guess your gonna have to delete it.
-
Ok, I deleted the post
Not sure what is going on, but what ever it is, don't do that. :icon_biggrin:

Could it be the size in pixels of the images I am trying to attach? not the file size in kb...
I'll start another thread and try attaching pdfs instead of png images. Thanks for trying to revive it!
-
PDFs are a real pain.
This is not a porno site. We don't need the most gorgeous images. Guys here can get excited anyway.
Crop and resize to a thousand pixels wide, JPEG for about 10% loss of detail (typically 4:1 reduction of files-size).
Mike's battery is plenty large and pretty. Ruben's speaker is poorly lit but well detailed.

No need for pdf's
Just create the post without images first
Then go back and reply to your post with one image to see what happens.
That way, your original text is all there and maybe the reply is ok or not
Look at this post for info on forum images

This has happened at least one other time this year. I think it's just a blip in the matrix. Hard to say it's a forum software issue or user issue. I don't think the image pixel size or file size is the issue. Previously, I had saved one of the suspected images and attached it to a test message in a new thread with no problems. So, who knows?
Doug, have you heard of any other people with a similar issue?

No other issues like this that I know aboutYou guys here would be the ones that report it and then I would see your post.
-
I thought you may have seen this issue mentioned in the Simple Machine forum.

I don't go there muchIf it ain't broke, I don't go there. :icon_biggrin:
Also, if the issue can't be duplicated easily, there's no way to report it and get help.
