Title: Hello From Carlisle, PA, USA!
Post by: dtbradio on January 02, 2023, 01:53:40 pm
Hi All!

I live in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in the USA. I play bass at my church on a very amateur level, and I've dabbled with six-string electrics off and on for over thirty years. I'm a technician with my own business, and have over thirty years of component-level experience with solid-state CB radio equipment.

I've always found tube gear to be fascinating, but never was interested enough to delve into it myself until recently. I've completed two guitar amp projects so far, one of which actually worked. The first was built before I really understood good tube circuit grounding principles, and it had every possible ground issue you can think of. The second amp was built after extensive reading and research, and works quite well for an extremely basic single-ended 6K6 amp with no tone control.

I'm currently working on my first push-pull amp project, basically a JCM800-style preamp and tone stack paired with a Fender Bandmaster57-style splitter and power section. Still waiting on an output transformer to arrive, so no idea how well it will work yet.

I'm looking forward to contributing to the forum with my experiences!

Welcome to the Hoffman Amps forum

There are many different boards on this forum for different topics.

The Tube Amp Building - Tweaks - Repairs board is where you can post amp questions.

That board is listed here.

Like Doug said, Welcome!  :l2:
Lovely little town Carlisle. I broke down there a couple years ago.  :sad2:
Lots of smart guys here and most are really willing to help!
