It really hits hard. If there was one guitarist you'd want to be I think the poll would show we'd want to be Jeff RIP. His frank up yours attitude to what people want him or music to be, His amazing virtuosity of the instrument, there's a phd in there. Really liked the way he got new young talent to record or perform with him he was a true gent. Gutted. I suggest check out the rock'n'roll party dvd for Les Paul if you haven't seen it.

Hendrix and Beck were always on the turntable when I played records way back when

I have listened to Jeff's tunes ever since I was a teenager and I'm totally sad at his passing. His time with Vinnie, Tal and Jason to me was exceptional and especially the show at Ronnie Scott's in London.
Another fave is Guitar Shop with Terry Bozzio and of course all his earlier endeavors including with the Yardbirds

RIP Jeff..

In the end he just quit the rock 'n' roll rat race, and just mined it for tunes that he could then interpret his own way.  No one else like him.  Not ashamed to say I have shed tears listening to 'Nessun Dorma'...

RIP Jeff.   :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

RIP Jeff. We are so grateful for your genius and your awesome music.

It was 1975, my friend had just bought the new release for Jeff Beck's Blow by Blow. I said "who?", and the reply was "come on over, we'll listen to it". The album was opened and put on a high end turn table/amp/speakers. And played at concert volumes. It blew my mind, and was the segway into new worlds. Until that point, to me jazz was jazz, rock was rock, blues was blues, etc. But to hear a whole new style with elements of others was totally new to me. I didn't know about Miles Davis's Witches Brew, Billy Cobham's Spectrum, Yes's Relayer, or Magma's Kobaļa...

Take care everyone

It is very sad that Jeff has departed. I was always amazed by his playing style and technique.
