I've built a single channel brownie style amp to be used as a clean amp and pedal platform. It's based on my '63 Tremolux sans tremolo. Tone wise I'm actually not too far off.
While researching and comparing schematics I've found that the 6G9-B uses a 500pF treble cap rather than the usual 250pF for TMB tonestacks in Fender amps. I've confirmed that my original '63 does indeed have 500pF treble caps.
Do any of you know of other Fender TMB amps have a 500pF treble cap? I have not found any other than the Tremolux. Not even the 6G11/-A, which really is the same amp in a combo format.
I suspect that part of the magic I hear in my old amp is the higher value treble cap in combination with the tapped treble pot.

Looks like the 6G9-B is the only one.

The values depend on the circuit. This more/less treble pot is different from all other Fenders. So who cares what they use?
If you like it, copy it.
