This has been stuck in my head for a couple weeks now.
Love the out of tune guitar.

My favorite female vocalist of all time. Followed by Gladys Knight, Bonnie Raitt and Sarah Brightman.
I was listening to a compilation Aretha Franklin Greatest Hits and one of her blues albums just yesterday afternoon. Love her songs!

I'll never forget where I was at and doing the first time I ever heard "Respect". Grabbed my attention!
On this recording it sounds just like a 3 piece---guitar, Bass and Drums. You could really hear the out of tune notes on the first few bars. After the band started wasn't quite as noticeable. When I started playing in bands late 60's early 70's I finally started using a pitch pipe. If there is no keyboard in the band and it's all guitars and drums, everybody tuning to the lead guitar and the lead guitar gets way off from 440, it can get pretty wonkey  So I started using a pitch pipe. Ever try to blow a pitch pipe and tune a string at the same time--really awkward! So when we finally got a keyboard player, that really helped. In the 80's I finally got my first Justina Electronic tuner. Still have it and it still works but I mostly use the guitar neck/head clip on tuners now. Platefire
