Title: Turret Tag Terminals and Sizing
Post by: Rontone on February 15, 2023, 10:18:29 am
I can get these locally and pick up in store, which would be handy:- https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/pcb-rivets-riveting-tools/0433589

I have attached the .pdf datasheet with dimensions on, are these fine to use on normal 3mm board?

They seem a different size than my previous ones from Modulus UK, they have about 4.6mm on the bottom part [that gets swaged] I have filed some down to size before for certain boards and repair work so there's just the right amount poking out of the bottom to be swaged,

On another note, if I get some sub miniature turrets, which have a hole drill size of 2mm, so a narrower diameter, is there a specific tool to use with those? The tool and turrets I got from Modulus UK and tube-town.de are for the 2.8mm ish hole size, so the nipple/stud part on the press sits nicely in those turrets, I suppose if located properly, lined up and go slowly it should press ok

Are people using the same tool for both size of turret?
