I replaced the baffle and grill in my 66 Vibro Champ to accommodate a 10" spk., saving the original 8" spk and grill cloth. It's running a 6L6GC and I want to replace the original Champ OT with a Hammond DSE125, 10 watt, keeping the original in place unconnected to keep everything original.Would the location of OT in pic below cause any issues, the wires are long enough to reach connections? I plan on using the 10" 8 ohm spk in pic, using the 5K secondary into the 8 ohm tap.

Possible hum issue from being close to the PT. May have to move a bit farther away from the PT. You'll know when you wire it up. Don't trim the leads yet.
Other than that, I'm happy. Just be aware that you will have high voltage on the outside of the chassis.

Leads are 12” long, probably a temporary setup and don’t want to drill chassis holes in a vintage amp. I can move it lower a few inches from PT. Don’t want it on preamp side. I also have some weaved metal gound shielding that l can send the OT wires through into the chassis, wonder if primary and secondary wires twisted next to each other in that shield would be a problem. I’m hoping not to move the OT, hopefully get it right the first time.
I take it, you’d move the OT lower as far as you could from the PT? What about using that metal sheathing..?
