Title: Copicat MKIV Repair
Post by: Rontone on April 21, 2023, 03:34:36 pm
I have a Copicat tape echo that was intermittently working, after a cleanup and re-cap I'm getting no echo signal coming back, so I've got a wrong connection, a bad joint somewhere or failed part

Clean guitar signal is fine and coming through, can hear the old tape bumps through the playback heads, so the playback heads are passing through to the output and the echo volume pot etc,

The oscillator board seems all hooked up correctly, Erase head and Rec head the right way round etc

I've done a quick check on the transistors, there was only one that needed the joint heating to fit a cap and possibly heated up, but tests fine on the tester, the rest where not disturbed in the cleanup....

Trying to work out where the dry signal splits to go to the record head  and which parts/connections could be the problem,
