I picked up a small box AC50 in need of some attention. Also found a modern Vox V212BN cabinet that i think will be a decent match. But I admittedly am a diehard Alnico speaker fan and want to find a good speaker to compliment the vox chime and that can handle the 50w. My go-to is celestion blues, but that wont handle the wattage. Originally the factory AC50 cabinets used 2x12(celestion silvers, Goodmans or Fanes) and a mid-range horn. The story is that the EL34 were a bit darker than the EL84 and the horn both compensated and helped when paired with the lower wattage speakers. But I think I can avoid the horn.
Any suggestions?? So, here is my short list:
Celestion gold
Scumback Scumnico H75
Weber Blue(higher wattage variant)
Celestion Ruby

Love the Celestion Gold . . . but, very pricey.
You might check with Weber directly and ask for advice. Last year I asked about how to get a tone I wanted, and they gave great advice. I ended up with two different Weber speakers in a cab, and they sound awesome together. Much less expensive.
No experience with Scumback, though they are well regarded.

All these alnicos are spendy it seems. Even the webers. I think the magnets are the big cost denominator.
About 6-months ago I went through the ringer trying to get Weber to answer the phone, emails or call me back. Any tips on getting a hold of them?

Any tips on getting a hold of them?
I just used their contact form https://www.tedweber.com/contact/ (https://www.tedweber.com/contact/) which worked in 2021. Since then, I've used their direct emails successfully.
taweber@tedweber.com, or
CJ, who is their speaker recommendation expert: cj@tedweber.com or text him @ 765-480-1376

I am not familiar with those specific speakers, but I have been researching their Blackhawk Alnicos. If I were you I would make another post about it as I am sure others here have used them and can chime in.

I ended up scoring some vintage Celestion Vox Silvers with trashed cones and needing reconing. So I am having them reconed with Mueller H1777 cones but instead with higher wattage celestion voicecoils. The nice thing with the G12 alnico speakers is the parts are mostly interchangeable.
