this guitar was bought in 1972 by my elder brother. He joined a group who plays in afternoon, sort of "bal musette", playing waltz paso doble and the like.
He had to wear a green satin shirt that he dislikes a lot ! One day he arrived at the gig with his slippers which was not at the taste of the leader
He went to the military service, then got married and finish the guitar in a band for him.
I bought his rig (a 100W Faylon amp) in 1975.
And joined other lyceum's fellows to form a band. Our repertoire was based on "Ramble" "You really got me" and other (very few) stuff like that following the bassist/singer choices.
This guy finished completely alcoholic and had disapearred a day without notice.
The drummer could have been named Mohammed Ali, a furious kid. Too furious indeed.
The other guitarist had a beautiful Télé, he was a trucker, but have always been attracted by the falballa of the religion and became a priest.
That rang the knell of the band which had not even been baptized.
From my side i started to work overseas. I kept the guitar but gave the amp to a niece.

This guitar is overpriced today, and the orange competition are the most valuable.
But that's the vintage nonsense.
I went to N.Y. in 1992 for a training on echo-canceller for télécoms. I took advantage to visit guitar shop to buy an LP (half price from France, just manage to bypass the customs, impossible nowadays)..
there was a lot of mustang at around 200$, then came Kurt_mania ....

This pic is from 1966. The first R&R band I was in. I'm on the left and recently traded a Gibson Melody Maker double pickup for the old Strat. The Mustang Bass was later traded for a Jazz Bass. And the 335 used to be a white tortoise shell Mustang. Been a while since I thought about those Mustangs. Anyhow, your post brought back those memories. Thanks...

Love that guitar and the band pic. I have no pics of the 8th grade band I was in. Seems strange that we did not take photos. We had a big Silvertone amp that we all plugged into. I had a single pickup Dano/Silverton. The other guitar player traded his strat for a Kent hollow body. I'd love to find him now so I could rib him about that trade. It was 1968 so we played Kinks, Beatles, Stones, Doors, and even Freddy and the Freeloaders
