Title: Question on OD channel switch with Reverb
Post by: markmalin on July 11, 2023, 04:16:42 pm
Hello guys,

I wanted to ask you'all about these OD switch configurations if I take D style preamp and run it into an AB763 style reverb, PI and power section.  If you look at the schematics, in one version I am running the reverb wet signal into the OD gain stages, but I don't think that's going to sound very good.  So I thought of having the OD switch bypass the Reverb when OD is engaged and only have OD in the clean setting.  The thing is, the OD input is floating when switched out of the circuit (it's not tied to ground at the input), and the reverb circuit is also floating (i.e. input not grounded) when the OD is on.  Is this going to cause issues when switching back and forth, or is it OK to let these both float like in the other schematic?

This is not finalized, just FYI.  I may or may not include the final gain stage in the reverb and have lots of playing around to to (notice no component values yet).

Humbly,
Mark
