Title: General Electric PA-20 Conversion to Guitar Amp
Post by: Platefire on July 20, 2023, 10:24:55 pm
This was my first amp conversion in 2001 and have used it quite a bit over the years and this year 2023 did some additional mods and installed new filter caps and resistors. I never created an appropriate schematic for it until this year, as attached. If I was going to name it anything, I would call it "GE 57 Convertible". GE representing the Manufacturers name, 57 for the year made and "Convertible" from the attached GE sales advertisement. It definitely has that 50's look. I have been able to get good classic tones plus good overdrive by the adjusting the controls on the amp and manipulating my guitar volume control. I value an amp by the good experiences I've had using it---consistency, great sound and feel---so this amp is well valued to me!
