Title: Wall-warts for 9vdc pedals
Post by: dude on July 27, 2023, 04:10:04 pm
I have several wall-warts that say 9vdc, correct polarity, perfect for pedals. But when l measure the voltage, no load, 12.5vdc, under pedal load 11.1 to 11.5 vdc. Is this voltage too high for 9 volt pedals? I’m guessing no harm but don’t want to ruin a good pedal.

I made the same observation. Also they more than often have enough space to add a voltage regulator. Question being, do they have "real" screws to open and close them.

Wall-warts are sealed, can’t open them without cracking the cover and destroying it.
Is 2 more volts a game changer, that’s the question..? The pilot light is a little brighter, a good thing.

I'm losing it, in my old age. I asked this question a good while back and got my answer. Maybe time to hang it up, go out to pasture.. https://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=25250.0
