Title: Choke for 5f6a build
Post by: Mypalmurph on August 08, 2023, 10:35:32 am
I have a Hammond 158q 5H 100ohm choke and I’m thinking I can use it in the power supply for my bassman build.  Will it work ok or should I just order the one that’s specified?

Should be fine, the 158Q is rated for 150mA I believe, and the original 125C1A was rated for 90mA. The extra Henry won't be heard IMO.

Thank you for a quick reply.  I actually purchased 2 of the 5H chokes on eBay for about $20- it’s not the money it’s that I’m impatient and I don’t want to wait for another one.  This is my first build and I’m cruising along.  If I were good at math I’d be an electrical engineer rather than a lineman
