Hey guys I'm building a vibrolux reverb for a friend of mine who is a jazz guitarist.
I have sourced all the parts but am concerned about finding a chassis, faceplate and cabinet that all fit each other. I'm rather surprised Mojotone doesn't have much in the way of parts other than the cabinet.
I have found the chassis build by zachmdhunter on ebay. Over email he told me the chassis is 23" long
I have found a faceplate on ebay as well but if you look at the pics it looks like it is about 22.75" long. I asked them via email to measure it exactly but have had no pleasure getting that measurement.
I want to get the Mojotone cabinet because can get the cabinet for the best price. They say the chassis cutout is 23". This seems slightly small as I would like it to be more 23 1/8" if the chassis is 23". I asked them if they could pull one out an measure the cutout and they just told me it would be tight but would work.
23" seems to be the correct length for a traditional chassis so I think that's good. Seems like I might have a problem with the other parts fitting.
Anyone have any experience building a vibrolux from scratch? Where can I source parts that will work together?
Thanks for any help. Wes

Why not build it into a Super Reverb Chassis? The only difference would be that you would gain a mid control on the Reverb channel and cabinet and chassis parts would be easier to find.
Alternatively, I think Mojo makes a Deluxe Reverb with bright switches. If you went that route, the only thing you'd have to do is make the cutout for the PT bigger.

Thanks Dave, I have considered both of those options. But of course the cutout for the PT would be different for both. Wondering about other options before I consider that.

I suspect the parts you are looking at will fit. You may want to ask each supplier that question. Another option is Marsh Amplification. They have a kit, and will be willing to put together a partial in my experience.

Thanks. Some guys on the gearpage have clued me in about a place called SolandFa in Thailand that is making chassis and faceplates. They had pis of the results and it looks nice.
Still interested in other options if they exist.

For custom chassis, https://seasidechassisdesign.com (https://seasidechassisdesign.com) is really good, not especially expensive. His 12ga aluminum chassis is very rugged.
The most expensive, but most beautiful if designed well, faceplates are from FrontPanelExpress.
