Title: Cordovox amp
Post by: bmccowan on September 07, 2023, 10:42:40 am
Two topics here:
https://www.ebth.com/music-and-instruments (https://www.ebth.com/music-and-instruments) I think folks here would enjoy taking a gander at the amazing collection of instruments currently listed for auction here.
And, one of the Cordovox monster accordion amps is in the mix. I had a chance to buy one cheap a few years ago, but felt an accordion play should get it. But its tempting.
Sorry if this is a bit of a sidetrack. But if I post it in "other" not many will get to see all the cool instruments before the listing ends.

Funny you should mention the Cordovox amp - there was one for sale near me for $10 on Facebook Marketplace a few weeks ago. I was too slow to get it. It was just one half, the box with the amp & speakers. Had never heard of those before I saw that one listed.

I always wonder why people sell things like that for $10. Why not just donate it? Anyways - without the tone generator it is a power amp and speakers. Definitely worth adding a preamp.
But what really amazed me in that listing is the two pages of vintage brass instruments. There are some real oddities there.

Yeah, it's hardly worth the effort to sell something for ten bucks. On the other hand, you can get somebody to come by and pick it up and you don't have to waste time and fuel to go drop it off somewhere.

Yeah, you could squeeze in a Champ like input and preamp/tone control into that power amp section and probably make a decent ol amp

A guy decided to change the refrigerator he had at home, it was a recent model and in good shape but he need a bigger one

He placed the refrigerator behind home with a sign with the words for free

After 10 days the refrigerator was still there, so he take away the sign and put on a new one with the words 20$

Nobody payed for it but the next morning the refrigerator was gone
