Carol and I both grew up with Parcheesi boards in the house. Lots of family fun. Later on when the honeymoon fever wore off, we decided to buy a board. After a couple years we put that ragged board up in the closet and kinda forgot about it for several years. During my woodworking days in the '80s I decided to build a wooden Parcheesi board. That board is still with us today. Carol just had hip surgery a couple weeks ago and we renewed our interest in the game while she was recovering. Still fun, especially with four people. We just finished a game a couple hours ago. More fun when you win! :icon_biggrin:
Anyhow, thought I'd give y'all a bit more insight into sluckey. And also show another of my one-of-a-kind projects from the '80s.
Here's an original board and also my wooden adaptation... Mahogany, maple, walnut, and padauk.

My sister and I played that exact board excessively through the 60s and tapered off in the 70s. Haven't played since she died in 83...

Nice work on the board! I never heard of Parcheesi? The wife and I play Mexican Dominoes pretty regular. Just like you said, more fun with 3 or 4 players but2 works pretty good. Funny thing when we play I always turn on the Direct TV on station 820 easy listening Jazz and run it through my Stereo System and call it "Domino Music"
