Title: Can cap terminals - how close to chassis is too close
Post by: delray on October 24, 2023, 11:37:20 pm
Ordered some can caps for my plush project. I am a little concerned about the proximity of the terminals of the cap to the chassis. I can shift it around a bit and its being held in with temporary screws. At what point could it arc or short?

Enlarge the screw holes a bit then you can move the cap to have it perfectly centered on the big hole

About the minimum distance I hope someone will replay you

I would rotate the can cap so that the ground connection lug is closest to the chassis. That way the hot lugs will have maximum clearance and all will be just fine
