Title: 6g15 "Blues/Surf" Mod
Post by: macfadyb on November 15, 2023, 07:48:36 am
Hello!  Trying to track down some info on this mod post from the offset guitar forum, it seems the user had attached a ton of images but sadly all have gone dead since it was posted 10 years ago.  Wondering if someone might have any of this info saved by chance, or might be able to guide me in the exact location for the resistor voltage divider needed for the "blues/surf" mod, purpose being to tame the overall reverb depth and allow more full control of the pot without it getting too wet right away.

Here is original post https://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=83932 (https://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=83932)

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, hoping to integrate this mod into a fresh mojotone 6g15 reverb kit

This guy simply inserted a 10:1 voltage divider just before the 6K6 grid. Could have been done several different ways. The attached schematic shows the simplest way to do the 10:1 divider.

However, you really don't need this mod to accomplish his goal of having more control over the DWELL pot. Just replace the 250KL pot with a 250K-A pot to make the DWELL pot more usable. You'll still have the same amount of maximum reverb but you will have to turn the DWELL pot up higher. The audio taper pot will also make it much easier to dial in a small amount of reverb.

Excellent, thank you!  That makes a lot of sense with regards to just changing pot taper, probably the better option... certainly less intrusive!

You could probably get Mojo to substitute a 250K-A pot in their kit.
