Title: vintage fender choke question

Hi all, I just bought a '75 fender PA100 for possible modding. It looks in good condition except for some black splatter on the chassis, under the choke (125C1A I assume). As per the pic you'll see corresponding black marks on the underside of the choke itself. Amp sounds great but I'm guessing I'm tempting fate keeping that choke in circuit? Any thoughts/ideas on possible causes/prognosis?

Put it back in there and leave it alone. It is behaving normally.
