Title: Super Champ lead channel is "darker" than normal channel
Post by: TubeGeek on November 25, 2023, 01:57:33 pm
Hello,

I have a Rivera era super champ on the bench today and it works just fine other than when I pull out the volume pot for the lead channel, it loses its treble and sounds dull and dark.

I've checked the 100pF cap on the vol pot, the 47pf cap and the 250pf cap on the treble pot.  All the usual suspects are not the reason the lead channel is dark.

I can hear the treble there on the normal channel but as soon as I pull the pot out for lead, it goes dark.

Thoughts?
