Title: 5C1 Champ in a 5F1 wraper
Post by: punkykatt on December 22, 2023, 09:38:23 pm
Now that my wife and I spend our summers at our lake cottage in Connecticut, I needed a small practice amp other than the plastic Marshall 9v jobber
I have been using. Went through my stash of parts and found a bunch of metal case 6SJ7`s, some NOS 6V6GT`s and 5Y3GT`s, an 8" Weber Blue Pup, and an Allen T0-11 output tranny.  Grill cloth from a thrown out stereo speaker and an old amp handle and cabinet corners. Ordered a 5F1 chassis and a power transformer. Got my dove tail jig out and went to work. This little amp sound great. More pics to come.

Looks great & I really admire the actual redeployment of your spare parts!

I often aspire to do that, but always end up adding this new & that new, & the re-use part of it doesn't really happen.

Great Job, I like it!

I like your idea of marking those orange drops with a permanent marker, I can SEE those values:>) Good reason to buy orange drops because it impossible to do that on the White Mallory 150's that is almost impossible for me to read. I use to could read the yellow ones
