Title: Marshall lighted switch
Post by: Lectroid on January 17, 2024, 08:03:16 pm
I'm trying to use one of the common Marshall red rocker switches in a build.  The amp powers on with the switch wired like a Fender, where the switch interrupts the black lead.  The problem is that the light doesn't come on.  Then I found a thread:  https://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=17064.0 (https://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=17064.0). with a schematic of the switch, see below.

It looks like the switch is built to make/break both the white and black wires (neutral, hot) simultaneously.   I think I was expecting it to light up even though no current was flowing.   :dontknow:

Anyway, can someone confirm that for me?

Thanks, sluckey. I really like the lighted switch look.  So I'll wire it to make/break both the hot and neutral wires, like this:
