Burned up the 470 Ohm on one of my tube sockets. Ohmed the 6V6GT Sovtech and there is a dead short between pins 8 4 5. I’m guessing that’s bad. ;). Lucky for me, I stuck it in there with the intention of biasing the amp and had the back of the chassis facing me and saw the resister “light bulb” shining through the cracks. In any case, this tube is now for sale, if anyone is interested. Best offers accepted.

Try this..
Put a rubber mat on the floor - Welcome mat type stuff - tough, but yielding.
Now hold the tube about 4ft above the mat and drop it. Do it several times, checking for the short after each drop.
If no improvement, keep increasing the height, dropping in different positions and checking shorts until you break it or just get tired.
Btw, is the internal structure crooked? If so, drop it so as to try knocking it back straight.
Might not work, but what have you got to lose?
