I put a cathode cap in to boost treble, but it was a little much. A standard anode by-pass cap mitigated it perfectly but dulled the tone when the cathode cap was out of circuit. The solution:

Yes, that works well. I did that on my HRD on the more gain channel with a .47 cap and I believe a 500pF.
Turned it into a lead boost. Works kind of like a band pass filter, way more useable than what was there before. The extra cap to ground after the plate got rid of all the nastiness.
