Title: ADA MP1 schematic question
Post by: Caspercody on March 18, 2024, 02:41:06 pm
Hello

Can you please look at the schematic I attached, and look at the circuit that I out a red square around. I am trying to identify what this circuit does. Is it a compressor, or distortion?

Thanks
Rob

Title block says distortion. I see no mention of compressor.

NE572 is a notorious telephone compandor.

That plan is too much for my brain. They *could* be companding the signal before/after distortion to get a more constant % distortion. But there's too much going on for me.

stop by one of those CCP operations in your backwoods, they'll sell ya the good stuff  :icon_biggrin:

I'm to deep in other things to re-learn the Wheatstone bridge basics, seems like that diode bridge wants to act like one, maybe later

Thanks for looking!!

I believe that the circuit around U4 is the solid stat distortion circuit. This feeds in front of the tube distortion circuit.
