Title: Champ Reverb 6L6 Build
Post by: JGk on April 19, 2024, 02:07:56 pm
Winter project built this Champ with reverb and a 6L6 for a friend. Stuffed it into a Vibro Champ chassis. Hamond Power and Heboyer output WGS 10" speaker. Sounds great and very quiet. I did elevate the heaters and did allot of experimenting with it. 6L6CG is biased around 90% at 360 volts. 1-5 vol is pretty clean, past that the amp gets a bit of hair and at 8-10 its rock and roll! Reverb is sweet surfing at 7 or so.

JGk, Wow!

I have the 12" version of that Orange C/S GWS speaker. It's just so great in my 6G3 I can't imagine ever changing it. (Only the Creamback in my AC15 sounds as good.)
