Title: Standby disconnecting G2 from PS (and connecting it to negative Bias Voltage)
Post by: kagliostro on April 23, 2024, 03:38:54 pm
I'm sure I asked about this way to perform a Standby here on the forum but I'm not able to remember the answer I received

Which are the advantages and disadvantages on using this kind of Standby ?

Why not only disconnect G2 from the PS but also connect it to the negative Bias voltage ?

In a Cathode Bias amp may G2 be connected to ground instead to a negative voltage ?

Thanks

Franco

Whell, I've find the old thread (2014)

the answer, from our friend Darryl was:

...... It would ensure the output valves were completely cut off in standby.

p.s.: Reading the old thread you'll find also explanation about the reason for the relay presence
