Title: 4M volume pot
Post by: Colas LeGrippa on May 06, 2024, 09:06:23 pm
Hola amigos,

When I dismantled my old Traynor YBA 1A,
many, many, many, many , many, many, many years ago, to build something else, I kept the 4M volume pots and never used them, because I had read
that a 12a....7 was  happier with 1M's.
As I was modifying an amp this afternoon and I had run  out of1 meg pots, I put in a 4M as a Master Volume. I found it very smooth, increasing or decreasing the volume evenly  over the travel.
Wha'ts the math behind that ?

Thanks for comments.
No, I aint drawn no schematics yet.
