I'm trying to pick this chassis up for CHEAP. The front panel looks like an extra-long (17.5"x4"x2.5") 5E3. Back panel has 5 octal and 3 noval cutouts, and what might be a pair of RCA cutouts. I'm guessing it's a custom chassis and not some rare or unknown tweed amp copy. I've got ideas on what to do with it, but open to other suggestions.

Unless you've built several amps or have a solid background in tube amps I'd avoid it.
Who needs an amp with 4 X 6V6 or 4X 6L6?
The money you save on this chassis will be spent on parts to accommodate all the chassis' possibilities.
Or better?
You simply build a 5E3

Some years ago, Weber was offering a high power 5E3. This could be their chassis for that amp.

I'd probably drill a couple of more holes for pots and build something like a 4*6v6 (or 6L6) 5F6a-ish. Many options with all those socket holes for using GZ34 or 5U4 rectos 😃

My brain says 4 6V6 power section. Because I enjoy amps that I can pull two output tubes to run at reduced power.

This is not beyond the scope of my abilities, just wondering about this chassis that looks familiar and odd at the same time. I've got a buddy that turned me on to the late 50's Gibsonette. The biggest thing it's lacking is the ability to play clean, loud enough to keep up with a band. A quad of JJ 6V6S run SE, paired with some efficient speakers would solve that. Extra preamp tube positions open up the possibility of onboard tube reverb, full tone stack, etc.

Do a google search for a schematic and layout for a Weber 5E3X2.

Here's one that sold on Reverb...

A 5E3 X2 was a thing for a while. Guys who loved a tweed Deluxe 5E3 but wanted more power. They distort so quickly.
As Sluckey pointed out Weber had 1, Victoria amps built and sold a 2X 5E3 for a while. Guys liked the K biased 6V6 sound.
At ~30w, that's a nice club sized amp. With 2x10", 2x12", or even a 10" along with a 15" in the same combo cab, all of those would sound great with a K biased 4x6V6.

Thanks for digging that up. If the guy ever gets back to me, I've got plans for it other than a 5E3X2.
