Hey guys. Just wanted to say that I'm fine. I've been part of the Hoffman forum for 18 years and enjoyed every bit of it. I've met a lot of interesting people, made some friends, and have enjoyed sharing ideas with y'all. But today I'm stepping aside to pursue other interests. It's been quite a ride! Farewell friends and y'all keep the rosin burning.

I've been a long time lurker, but this is my first post outside of a single response in the Buy-Sell-Trade section.
That said, it's been a long time coming but I would like to say thanks for all you've contributed. I mostly think about all the projects I want to do and have little time to execute, but I've always found your posts and site to be full of great content and I have lots of info saved that came directly from you. So thanks for sharing your knowledge and your respectful, encouraging attitude with strangers on the internet.
Enjoy whatever comes next!
-
Thanks for all the knowledge and wisdom!

I can't begin to thank you for all the knowledge and insights you have shared so clearly. I will miss that; and also your occasionally smartxxx attitude :icon_biggrin: Doug will not be able to replace the education and entertainment you provide our group. (and when do you sleep?)
Good luck with your new direction Steve. You have given a lot and deserve to be challenged in new ways!
-
Wow, what a loss to this community! You have been inspirational, insightful, generous, rational, helpful, and much more. Enjoy your other pursuits! There will forever be a Sluckey-sized hole on this forum.

Man, your knowledge and experience on electronics is a gift that will be missed here. I envy your knowledge and hope to one day have half the understanding of tube amps as you do. I hope whatever you move on to is fulfilling and that you keep tinkering in the amp realm. Thanks for all the advice in my short time here. 🍻

Sluckey…..
It’s been a while since I’ve logged on and must say that I was so bummed to see your post. Mostly because you have been such an immense help time and time again. Your vast knowledge is truly impressive. But greater than that has been your kindness in helping young amateurs like myself. You’ve truly been an inspiration. I know this is all just a hobby, but the way you’ve helped “green” enthusiasts like myself will never be forgotten.
I wish you well in wherever your next chapter takes you. You will be greatly missed. Farewell kind sir.
-
Just like the others I've enjoyed and learnt something from all your contributions. Thank you and best wishes with the next chapter Joe.
-
Best Wishes Sluckey.
You'll be missed, especially for you technical excellence. :worthy1:
Kind Regards,
Mirek

The best of luck, in whatever you turn your hand to!

THANK YOU for all of your help, patience, generosity and guidance. You have been a model of consistency and dedication and your work has inspired thousands (maybe hundreds of thousands?!) of builders.
I hope that you truly enjoy the rest of your time on this earth and if I ever get down south I'm gonna buy you a steak dinner.
Sadly, but with great respect and admiration,
Dave :occasion14:

Steve, I am saddened to here you are leaving the Forum. :sad2: Thank you for all your help and guidance. You will truly be missed. Good luck.

Dang. Feels like the earth just shifted under my feet. It is hard to imagine this place without Steve Luckey. You gave us the fixes to get over problems, but you were always ready to answer noob questions. I've always respected your willingness to pass on your experience.
Farewell. All the best. :bravo1: :worthy1:

Just another thanks for all your help, I always liked your replies. Hope the best for you and your family. Take care.

Steve, you are one of many that made this forum feel like home.
On some forums there's an element that tends to "attack" those just looking for help!
Always found you super helpful and sometimes humorous but never a "Stiff Richard"!
Thanks for all your help!
You will be sorely missed.
I wish you health, wealth and happiness in all your future endeavors!
-
Thank you for everything. I've learned so much from you! Wish you nothing but the best!
Jeff

One more note of appreciation for what you've taught me!
I can only hope that your Shopsmith is up to the task . . .

Thanks so much for all the tips and tricks I have shamelessly plagiarized from your builds. :-) Very best to you Steve.

I was enjoying a restful week on a pond when this news hit. I cannot top the heartfelt reactions. Steve, you offer practical advice with excellent examples. For those of us not schooled in electronics, that is invaluable. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your next adventures.
Thank you.
-
Thank you for everything my friend. I pray you well in all you do, may the Lord Jesus bless you and yours.

You are very well respected! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and talent, it's inspiring. I came here to ask a question about one of your builds I am pursuing and am having trouble on startup, :w2: and unfortunately saw this and that you are not receiving messages. Total bummer, but wish you the best!

I’m so late to the game on this, But I still need to say it;
NOOOoOO.. This is such a sad goodbye!! I Can’t even count how many times Slucky has sussed out flaws & made key corrections to my schematics/turret board layouts.. Or jumped into a thread at the most opportune moment to suggest an idea or alternative that’s saved me hours of unnecessary work & serious potential headaches!
I know I’m not the only one here who’s been surprised by a PM from Slucky with download files containing fully annotated layout diagrams & exact spec’s measurements needed to order drilled turret board’s that will perfectly fit the chassis of the Vox/Marshall/whatever amp being used in your conversion project..
Everyone at el34world is less fortunate to see Mr Slucky move on that’s for sure!
Good luck & thanks for everything!

Yelp, I find myself looking down the thread posters names to see if maybe he dropped back in for a chat or word, but no!
I figure he had a very good reason for doing what he did. I respect his decision

I think he has a secret user name of SEL49
