Title: Pop ups

I understand that we have to pay the bills but the pop ups on this board are terrible. Maybe it is my system

I use ad blocker plus, free, I never get any pop ups, never.

Some ad blockers may prevent you from seeing images or photos posted by members of their topics.
I've disabled mine.

I started using adblock Plus after reading this thread.
Worked great.

Recently though pop-ups have returned, AdBlock Plus still active
Any ideas for me to try??

Now that you mention it, I've been traveling in Peru for a while, and I notice I am not seeing the obnoxious pop-ups, just the small ones that show up in the middle of the page and are east to dismiss.

Back home I get those long ones that are annoyingly hard to dismiss.

It would be nice if the type of ads could be specified through the site host/ad service so that we don't see the worst offenders.

*edit* Just after posting, I saw one of the long annoying ones pop up at the bottom of the page. Trying to get me to go to Machu Picchu, but I've been multiple times so I can ignore it as long as I can make it go away.

Pop ups? I haven't seen any. Firefox on Linux, no add-on required....

lNo ads when viewing from my desk top, LOTS of ads on my Iphone.


I value this forum and would pay for ad-free if that were an option

Something happened to my site which is Google and the pop-ups are now gone.

It seemed to start again after the "molasses" thread.
So I was wondering if it was being experienced by others (guess not)

What I did was make sure AdBlock and Google are current, restarted and maybe that fixed.
But its good again hopefully for the "duration"  :-)
