Title: Bridge pickup for a Tele?
Post by: punkykatt on September 20, 2024, 12:23:52 pm
Hey Guy`s, I just inherited and Mexican built Tele and the bridge pickup is dead, reading zero ohms on the coil. Any recommendations or suggestions  on a replacement is much appreciated. This Tele has three pickups and a 5 way switch like a Strat setup.

Is the bridge pickup a strat style or a tele style?

Try

or

There are cheap, cheap pickups on eBay but many of them sound cheaper than the price.

That Gotoh pickup sounds good and you can't go wrong with Seymour Duncan's.
The last thing you want to do is replace the original with a lower quality pup.
BTW, I've used that Gotoh in a few customer's guitars and they were happy with it.

Good to hear the view on the Gotoh. They always seem to hit a good value balance. I have read great reviews on Bootstrap pickups and am ordering a pair. I like their story and attitude. Handmade in a small shop and reasonable pricing.
