Title: How to Label Tubes?
Post by: dankinzelman on November 30, 2024, 02:55:42 am
Hi, I want to label a group of (output) tubes for sorting. I've tried masking tape but it singes and the adhesive sticks to the tube when I pull the tape off, then I have to clean it off with WD-40 and I'm afraid of damaging the factory label on the tube. Any suggestions for labels or tapes that can handle the heat and are easy to apply/remove?

I used an empty egg crate and a black sharpie, while "under test".  then transferred them with data collected to tube boxes I had/bought, walla...Dave's tube's with datasheets  :icon_biggrin:

Thanks shooter, so you write directly on the glass with the sharpie? Then how do you remove the writing?

I use a Merisen white marker to write on tubes. I don't actually know how well it holds up to really long term heat, but it works for my needs.
