Title: Solid State Amp/Troubleshooting Resource
Post by: jukelemon on December 18, 2024, 12:21:54 pm
Hi all!

I don't see much SS posts here so I was hoping if someone knows a good amp forum for these types of questions etc.

I am working on a Crate BT350 that has several things wrong with it and i am using it as a practice amp if you will on learning :)

Right now I have 2 blown low voltage secondary fuses, a preamp that is not getting any of the higher voltage DC to run the tube preamp, and a completely dead preamp board in general (which makes sense of course given no low voltage supply)

So ideally...looking for the Hoffman Forum of SS amps :)

Thank you!

Juke, there's a solid state section on the "other things" section of this forum- maybe someone will move your post there....

No, we can leave it here and guys will see it. If they think they can help with the SS amp, they can go over to that section.

1- Disconnect preamp from power supply. ; Voltages / fuses ok or not ?

2- Fuse blow : Check the 4 rectifier diodes ( d15 to D19), filter caps

3- Voltage / fuse ok , check preamp board for short - circuit.
     Start by unplugging all tubes
