Hi all,I've had this amp for years but recently rebuilt it, as the tiny chief caps were leaky. This is the current schematic. I'm curious if anyone has ideas to improve or broaden the range.
Current positives: lots of flexibility for clean tones (i.e. in recording situations, being able to fit into the mix). Great distortion when cranked, triode switch & option for negative feedback are really niceWould want: option for more variety in distortion and at lower volumes. More 'chime' (but I don't want to radically change the topology).
It is a small 4 knob DuKane chassis so I cannot add anymore pots, except one on the back for a presence tone or master volume.
Thanks much

how many different speakers have you played through? I like to run 4-6 and in combination, then once you have the "perfect" 1, 2, 4 it makes tweaking tone easier.

Good idea. I have a few speakers that I know pretty well and get a variety of tones.
12" open back scumback speaker
blonde showman tone ring with D140
4x10 with celestion 10"
12" open back 40w blackbird
and I have a friend with a celestion blue that I can try at some point.
