Title: Put a Magic Eye in your amp
Post by: Merlin on November 05, 2025, 11:04:37 am
I had an idea for using a magic eye as an ordinary gain stage, details here (https://valvewizard.co.uk/6E2MagicEye.html)!

Hi Merlin

Cool implementation

So this circuit can be added as a gain stage in an amp circuit (adding at the input and output coupling capacitors I think) not only a Magic Eye function

Which is the gain it will have ?

Thanks

Franco

Ciao Tubeswell
About 20, to me, as far as I can understand, is the gain of the triode, I mean the gain of the circuit as is arranged by Mr Merlin

Looking at Merlin's DC load-line, the voltage gain is 20. As to how the load line shifts for AC depends on other signal impedances around the gain stage.
